Family Support Specialists Provide Social-Emotional Assistance

Canton Local Schools has partnered with the United Way of Greater Stark County to provide a Family Support Specialist (FSS) to work alongside our school iCARE teams.

The iCARE team works collaboratively to address challenges faced by students and their families, helping them overcome barriers to learning by strengthening connections between family, school, and community.

Through this partnership, iCARE teams can provide:

  • Clothing and hygiene products

  • Food support

  • Community agency referrals

  • Holiday assistance

  • Mentoring for parents and students

  • Shelter resources

  • And many other social and emotional supports

Together, Canton Local Schools, United Way, and our Family Support Specialists are committed to ensuring every Wildcat has the tools and support they need to succeed—both in school and in life.
