Flyer Distribution Requests

Flyer Distribution Guidelines 

The Canton Local Schools Administration recognizes the importance of communicating events, sign-ups, registrations, and information about youth programs and activities. While the district does not promote specific groups or activities, flyers will be made available under the following guidelines:

Approval Process

  • All flyers must be approved by the Superintendent/Communications Director.

  • Flyers will be reviewed to ensure they are age-appropriate and meet community standards of decency and propriety.

Definition of Non-School Related Materials

For the purposes of this policy, “non-school related materials” refer to activities, events, and subject matter not officially sponsored or endorsed by Canton Local School District, but which promote educational programs and activities appropriate for children in district schools.

The following will not be distributed or promoted:

  • Political materials

  • Materials promoting “for-profit” ventures

  • Information that contradicts Board Policy

  • Events or activities that compete with district events or offerings

Submission Guidelines

  • Flyers must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the requested distribution date, along with a completed distribution request form.

  • Flyers must include:

    • The name and phone number of a contact person

    • The Canton Local Schools disclaimer

  • Electronic submissions should be sent to: email karen.vrabec@cantonlocal.org

Printing & Distribution

  • Upon approval, flyers must be delivered to the Administration Office in the required bundles as indicated.

  • Printing costs are the responsibility of the submitting group or organization.

  • Flyers without prior approval may not be distributed.

  • Approved materials will be distributed by district employees at a time, place, and manner determined by the building principal or designee.

Posting of Materials

  • Approved non-school related materials will be posted in common areas designated by the building principal.

  • The building principal or designee may restrict or prohibit distribution if the time and/or manner of distribution disrupts or interferes with school activities.
