BRIK Initiative

Kickoff Event: Building Resiliency in Kids (BRIK) Parents and community members are invited to join Superintendent Larry Tausch on Tuesday, September 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Canton South High School for the launch of our new initiative: BRIK—Building Resiliency in Kids. Inspired by Jonathan Haidt’s "The Anxious Generation," this program will share practical ways to help students: -Develop healthy online habits -Make positive choices -Thrive in school, at home, and in their digital lives Empowered Parents. Resilient Kids. A Stronger Tomorrow.

November Renewal Levy 2025

Not a New Tax Canton Local Schools is asking voters to renew an existing levy on the November 4, 2025 ballot. The 10.8-mill levy has been in place since 2001, and its last five-year renewal was approved in 2021. It supports day-to-day operations (like staff and supplies) and permanent improvements (like buses and building upgrades).

The Canton South Alumni and Friends Foundation is proud to announce the Hall of Distinction Class of 2025: Jeff Franks (Class of 1987) Dan Risaliti (Teacher, Coach, Administrator, 1966–1992) Steve Sankovich (Class of 1984) J. Ted Wenger (Class of 1955, Canton South Band Director 1963-1967) Join us in celebrating these outstanding Wildcats at the induction ceremony on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the Canton South High School Performing Arts Center. A dessert reception will follow.

First Day Forms Required

All current students must have their First Day Forms completed before the start of the school year. These forms are required for students to receive their Chromebooks during computer distribution at each school. Families have been sent their student’s Snapcode, which is needed to verify and update student records online. If you need help or access to a computer, the District Office has computers available for use. To schedule an appointment, please call 330-484-8019.

Back-to-School

  • All current students MUST complete their First Day Forms before the start of school. Completed forms are required to access Chromebooks during computer distribution at each school. All families have been sent their student's Snapcode, which is needed to verify and update student records. The district office has computers for families to use and fill out forms if needed. To set up an appointment, please call 330-484-8019.
     

    Didn't receive the Snapcode? Check your spam folder for an email from online.enrollment@cantonlocal.org. If you still cannot find it, call the school office to confirm that your email is correct in our system.

Renewal Levy Facts

2025-2026 School Year

School starts Tuesday, August 19, for Pre-K and grades 1-8 and for freshmen only at the high school. All students attend on Wednesday, August 20, except for kindergarteners, who have testing during the week and start all together on Friday, August 22.

Please be sure to complete your child’s First Day Forms before the start of school. Completed forms are required to access Chromebooks during computer distribution at each school. All families will be sent their student's Snapcode, which is needed to verify and update student records. The email with the code comes from online.enrollment@cantonlocal.org

Board of Education Meeting

The Canton Local Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the Community Room at Canton South High School. The meeting is open to the public; attendees are asked to use door #2.
