CSHS Transitions to Remote Learning November 24 & 25
Due to the lack of substitute teachers, Canton South High School students will transition to remote learning on Tuesday, November 24 and Wednesday, November 25. Walker Elementary and Faircrest Memorial Middle schools will remain open.
High school teachers will send remote learning information and schedules. Canton South staff members will be available during school hours for instruction and questions.
We currently have 3 active positive cases of COVID-19 in our district, but many students and staff members have been asked to quarantine or stay home due to contact tracing. Countywide we are experiencing a shortage of substitute teachers and the shortage is one of the main reasons why we have been forced to close a classroom, grade level or an entire building.
Reported COVID-19 cases are based on information from the Stark County Health Department. Families of close contacts will be notified based on the Stark County Health Department contact tracing protocol. The chart above reflects active cases are those in which students/staff has received a positive test/diagnosis and have not been cleared to return. Cases are removed from the dashboard when they are no longer active and the person has been cleared to return to school. *Staff not assigned to a particular school building
