Navigating through the special education process is often overwhelming for parents. Although we are here to help you in any way to make that process easier to understand, we realize that sometimes the best person for you to talk with and ask questions to are those that have experienced what you are going through. A parent mentor can do that for you. This is a service that is free of charge. The Parent Consultant Program is a support network for parents of children with disabilities within the geographic area of Stark County, Wayne County, and West Holmes Local Schools.
Parent Consultants are parents of children with disabilities who have had the experience of interacting effectively with schools and others to obtain appropriate services for children. They understand the district and the community and are familiar with how services are provided.
