Dough Go's is located in Canton South and has been in operation since Ben McDonald started it in 2008. In the beginning Ben strictly only sold white pizza dough balls. He offered the dough to local restaurants, pizza shops and golf courses. At that time he had one school account, McKinley High School. The business operated as wholesale and did not sell to the public. Ben liked the size of the company, although it was small, it was enough for him to get by as a bachelor.
In 2015, after marrying and starting a family, Ben and Megan decided to grow the company and dedicate their time to the business. The pair wanted to build something that would not only support their family, but other families too. The company now has 4 full time employees, a delivery van and doubled the warehouse size!
They expanded their pizza dough to offer a whole-wheat option for schools in order to comply with new "smart snack" regulations. They also started a "smart snack" cookie dough line and grew the school side of the business from 1 high school to 200+ schools.
In the near future, Megan and Ben hope to add 2-3 more employees and open a retail location. They appreciate the ability to bring their son Owen to work and have even taken him on a sales call to a preschool. “He is our little doughboy and the whole reason we decided to start a family business,” said Megan.
