As we enter the holiday season, I hope that you have the opportunity to see a play, attend a choir concert, watch a winter sport, or visit a classroom. Each of our schoolhouses are working on Connecting the Dots of our work. We have 5 areas of focus and I hope you can see evidence of each of them as you visit our schools, talk to students, staff or parents, or just check in with Inside Canton Local Schools or our website:
Wellness: As we strive to be the healthiest school district in Ohio, we encourage our Nifty Fifty by reading 20 minutes a day and moving vigorously for 30 minutes a day. Staff, students and the community are encouraged to practice healthy eating and exercise and to share their experiences.
High Expectations: Canton Local Schools has traditionally had high expectations of our students and staff. We continue to raise the bar of expectations so that our Wildcat Pride is evident in everything we do.
Engagement: Our vision is all students learning and engaged at high levels every day. We have committed to the framework of designing work for our students that causes them to learn at high levels, to be challenged, and persist through difficult lessons.
Compliance: The Ohio Department of Education rated us as EXCELLENT and we will continue to meet all the requirements of the state and, more importantly, we will work to make sure that all of our students reach their potential and learn their talents while they are with us.
