9th Grade Tutoring

September 23, 2011

Parents and Guardians of 9thgrade students:

As we enter into the second half of the first 9 weeks, our students are beginning to get a feel for what life at Canton South High School is all about. By now, all of their classes are in full swing, and many of them are beginning to realize that a strong work ethic is a key to their success. We are hoping to encourage the development of their work ethic and help to put education at the top of their priority lists.

To help students that are struggling, we are strongly suggesting that students that are not meeting the expectations and standards, specifically students that have a D or an F in their classes, to attend Friday morning tutoring. This takes place every Friday morning from 7:05 – 7:30 am. At this time, students are able to work with their teachers and get additional support in order to help them improve. Those students who choose to attend will receive an A homework grade simply for coming to school early and working with their teachers. Also, students who attend will have the chance to turn in late work, with the teacher’s permission. If students do not wish to attend, it will not help or hurt their grade in any way.

Students who are not doing well in their classes are generally having trouble because they either are choosing not to do the work or they are having difficulty with the work. Our hope is that this will help to fix both of the issues students may be having. Our goal is to get every student on board to reach their potential and have a successful high school experience.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns!
